Anonymous asked what's your serious opinion of the country right now/obama's job/state of the union? stop joking.

What’s my serious opinion? Well, this is going to be long but here you go.

I believe that the country is headed in the right direction. I believe that President Obama  has done an extraordinary job as President. In 2008, he inherited one of the biggest shitfests this country has ever seen. Entire industries were on the verge of collapse, we were spending billions on wars we didn’t even want to be in, we couldn’t find a man we thought was hiding in a cave, the planet pretty much hated us, and everything was literally in the shitter. Yes, things are bad now. But think back to 2008. People were speculating about not just a massive recession, but a probable depression. Healthcare costs were skyrocketing, the American citizen’s right to life was literally nonexistent. Businessmen decided whether you lived or not. Jobs were going overseas like never before. I don’t even have to explain how bad things were, you all pretty much lived through it. Look at where we are now. The economy is recovering. And yes, it is recovering. Slowly but surely, it is recovering. President Obama propped up Wall Street, which at the time, was the right thing to do. He saved the automobile industry, and look at it now. The American automobile industry, the one on the verge of total collapse three years ago, is now HIRING again. Not only has it fully recovered, but it’s growing and expanding like never before. The President passed the first major healthcare reform in decades. Health insurance companies can no longer tell you, “no, you’re too expensive, die”. Wall Street is now under control. No more can they continue to destroy the middle class with literally fooling people into buying mortgages they can’t afford. Banks are on a tight rope. The world short two dictatorships. The number one wanted man in all of America, across the entire globe, has been found and killed. The Iraq war is over. Socially, the United States has entered a new era of equality, social justice, and tolerance. On top of all this, college tuition has been brought to new lows thanks to the President. Clean energy is now finally a priority. In terms of the future, I think it’s a very bright one. The global economy is recovering. But this time, it’s not recovering just to fall down again. This will be an economy built to last. An economy where Wall Street is in check. An economy where the middle class has opportunities again. Women have new protections and new access to reproductive healthcare and Planned Parenthood. I do believe the President Obama is steering the country in the very best direction. Yes, you can point out mishaps he’s had, like how he hasn’t closed Guantanamo yet or how he passed the NDAA. When he took office, there were 700 inmates at Guantanamo. As of now, there are a little over 100 left. The country is finally being steered in the right direction. After 8 years of an endless chain of shit, people can’t hardly expect Obama to fulfill their every wish. But I can guarantee you that his Presidency has given not only me, but millions of people new hope for this country. The United States is back, thanks to Barack Obama. And I do believe that he will be re-elected, and that his second term is going to prove that America put the right man in office.
